On December 28, 2006, the grand opening of the Ice Palace on the territory of the Druzhba Stadium took place in Yoshkar-Ola.
It was the third facility in Mari El with artificial ice. The Small Ice Arena, which meets all international standards, was built in record time in just six months and twenty days.
