Chukshinskaya Mountain is the highest point of the Republic of Mari El (278.8 meters above sea level). It is located 15 km from the district center of Morki, on the border of Morkinsky and Kuzhenersky districts.


The rivers and ravines in this area are very deep. The shores are very steep like a wall. There are burrows, caves, a spring, according to some sources, it is believed that the water in it has healing properties. Chukshinskaya Mountain is rich in minerals: gypsum, dolomite, anhydrite, rubble stone.


There is a quarry where household stone is produced.


There is

also an annual cross–country event on Chukshinskaya Mountain. Everyone takes part in it – adults and children. They arrange holidays, have fun and reward the winning participants with memorable gifts.
