The history of the Tower Cultural and Exhibition Center began on June 12, 2018. On this day, a structural unit was opened in the building of the Blagoveshchenskaya Tower. The T. Evseev National Museum of the Republic of Mari El is the Blagoveshchenskaya Tower Cultural and Exhibition Center.
The establishment of the center is connected with the implementation of the state program "State National Policy of the Republic of Mari El for 2013-2025". The first major project was the "Multicultural Map of the Republic of Mari El". In 2019-2020, exhibitions of districts and cities of the republic were held here, demonstrating the cultural, agricultural, industrial and tourist features of the territories. The result was a large–scale exhibition "Kurymashlyk viy - the age-old power of the Mari land", presented on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Mari El.
In 2021, the center was reorganized and received its current name, the Tower Cultural and Exhibition Center. From that moment on, the platform focused on relevant art and work with young authors. In 2022-2025, large-scale collective projects took place: "To Be", "There is no time", "Who creates the shores", "The word has come", as well as off-season exhibitions "Freezing" and "Freezing 2.0."
Today, the Tower Cultural and Exhibition Center in Yoshkar-Ola is a bridge between the region's traditions and modern artistic practices.
The building of the center, the Annunciation Tower, is the architectural dominant of Republic Square and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is made as a stylized copy. The Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin. The height of the structure is about 53 meters.
