Yoshkar-Ola will host the qualifying semi-finals of the Russian Event Awards 2026
From October 7 to October 10, 2026, Yoshkar-Ola will become one of the main professional venues of the Russian tourism industry. The qualifying semi-final of the International Award in the field of event Tourism, the Russian Event Awards, will be held in the capital of the Republic of Mari El.
At the same time, the city will host the qualifying stages of the All-Russian Tourist Award "Route of the Year" and the All-Russian competition "Tourist Souvenir". For several days, Yoshkar-Ola will bring together organizers of tourist events, route authors, souvenir manufacturers, experts and representatives of tourist information centers from different regions of the country.
147 projects will continue to fight for victory
The Russian Event Awards Expert Council evaluated 147 applications from 71 localities and 39 regions of Russia. A total of 834 applications from 61 regions of the country were received to participate in the qualifying stage of the three federal tourism awards.
Notable projects of the Republic of Mari El are among the finalists. Among them are the gastronomic festival "Yoshka Yosh", the festival of satire and humor "Vasyuki Fest", "Sheremetyevo Festivities", the festival of Russian traditions "Kapustki", the family festival "Heart of Siberia", Sheremetyevo Castle and other tourism initiatives of the region.
The
semi-final program
On October 7, a grand opening ceremony, presentation of projects in the "Best Gift Shop" nomination, a business program and installation sessions will take place.
On October 8, the work of the competition commissions of the Tourist Souvenir Award will begin. A sightseeing walking tour of Yoshkar-Ola is also organized for participants. During the day, the counter of the Tourist Information Center will be open with the opportunity to sign up for thematic excursions.
On October 9, experts will review the competitive projects of the Russian Event Awards and the Route of the Year awards. A fair of handicrafts and tourist souvenirs will be held in the lobby of the Republican Puppet Theater from 10:00 to 18:00. The participants of the awards will be able to get acquainted with the city during sightseeing trips on the Mari excursion trolleybus "Edge out of time".
