The Orsha Museum of Local Lore was opened on March 23, 1983 in the village of Orshanka. In 1985, he received the title of "national", and later became the museum of peasant labor and everyday life. The founder of the museum is Nikolai Panteleevich Motovilov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, an Honored Teacher of the RSFSR, an honorary citizen of the village of Orshanka. The
main fund of the museum consists of 1,850 items and 469 items of the scientific and auxiliary fund.
The museum contains unique collections of objects of life, labor and everyday life of the local population during the period of the revolution. XIX — the beginning . XX centuries. In 2018, the museum celebrated its 35th anniversary. A
special pride of the museum is the collection of bells and bells cast in pre—revolutionary factories of the Volga region. Due to this unique collection, the museum is known as the "Bell Museum".
