The Aquatics Palace was built in record time, in 9 months, and opened on May 28, 2007. The building is located on the banks of the Malaya Kokshaga River, becoming one of the facilities of the "Sports Island" of Yoshkar-Ola.
The
size of the large basin of the pool is 50x25 meters, its area is 1250 sq.m. The water arena consists of ten 50-meter tracks with a depth of 2.1 to 3.3 meters to the center of the pool, which allows for training and synchronized swimming competitions. The pool's characteristics meet Olympic standards, which makes it unique for our Republic and allows for international competitions. The palace is a modern multifunctional sports facility that meets international standards. The stands of the palace can accommodate 700 visitors.
A
small bowl is provided for swimming lessons in the pool. Its dimensions are 12.5 x 6 meters, the area is 75 sq.m. The depth of the small bowl is 0.9-1.25 meters.
The pool has a preparatory training room with fitness equipment, a recovery center, a massage room and a medical control room, a press center, and a buffet.
The
palace is a center for the development of water sports in the Republic of Mari El. Sports schools for children and youth are engaged on its basis. For therapeutic and recreational purposes, swimming training groups for children and adults work in the bowls of the pool, and for the youngest there are "Mother and Child" groups.
