The history of the museum dates back to 1969. Unique material on the ethnography, military and labor glory of the region is collected and stored here. Currently, the museum's collection includes more than 4,000 museum objects and collections.

Of

particular importance is the "Pride of our District" hall, which contains unique material about people who have made a significant contribution to the development and prosperity of the region. In the Hall of Military Glory, you can see several expositions about the Great Patriotic War. The ethnographic department is represented in many ways. Household items, musical instruments, and national clothing of the peoples inhabiting the Mari-Turek Region – Mari, Tatars, Russians, and Udmurts - convey the ideals and identity of folk beauty and culture from the depths of time. The museum's living room is a huge success, where various events take place: master classes, hobby clubs, meetings with scientists, writers, and a creative workshop.
