The ecological trail "Journey through the Maple Mountains" passes through the Volzhsky district – along the territory of the old Kazan highway connecting the city of Tsarevokokshaysk (now Yoshkar-Ola) with Kazan. The choice
of the
territory along the route is not accidental. The Tsarevokokshaysky tract, which was the main road connecting Tsarevokokshaysk with the city of Kazan, passed through the territory of the Klenovogorsky and Lushmarsky district forestry districts.
Klenovogorye
is a wonderful region with its fabulous nature, beautiful blue lakes and springs, mighty oaks and slender maples, located in the center of the Mari Chodra National Park. The rushing Ilet River washes the foot of the Maple Mountain, and from its top there is an amazing view of the forests stretching for many kilometers around.
Numerous vacationers, tourists and nature lovers come every year to visit picturesque places, enjoy the scent of blooming lilies of the valley, taste the purest mineral water, just breathe fresh air, take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
