Voskresensky Park in Yoshkar-Ola
  • Destination
Republic of Mari El, Yoshkar-Ola, Voskresensky Park

Voskresensky Park is a modern public space in the center of Yoshkar-Ola, where walks are combined with picturesque alleys and monuments. The 5.7-hectare park stretches along Voskresensky Prospekt and has become a popular holiday destination in a few years.

The park was opened on August 11, 2018. Its creation became part of the improvement program for the central part of the city. The territory opposite the Mari El Arena athletics arena has been transformed: a well-thought-out walking area with greenery and recreation infrastructure has appeared in place of the free space.

Simferopol Alley is of particular importance for the park. It was built in 2014, even before the official opening of the entire territory. The alley has become a symbol of friendship and modern urban aesthetics. Two hundred lanterns, neat tiles and floral arrangements set the overall style of the future park.

In 2021, an important memorial object was added to the space – a monument to "Firefighters and rescuers – heroes of peacetime." It was opened on April 29, on the eve of the Russian Fire Protection Day. The authors of the monument are Mari sculptors Anatoly Sharnin and Sergey Yandubaev. The appearance of the monument has increased the cultural and social significance of the park.

Today, the history of Voskresensky Park is an example of how modern landscaping forms a new urban environment and unites residents.

The main elements of the park are:

  • Simferopol alley with decorative lanterns
  • The
  • original fountain
  • wide footpaths
  • recreation areas with benches
  • free parking

Special attention is paid to landscaping. The park is planted with red maple, linden, mountain ash, lilac, jasmine, acacia, bubblegum, Siberian cedar, larch and red oak. This variety creates a change of colors in different seasons: lilac and jasmine bloom in spring, the greenery of maples and lime trees thickens in summer, and the red oak leaves stand out brightly in autumn.

The park is open, well-visible and convenient for walking with children. Families often walk here, arrange photo shoots and hold city events. There is an ice rink in the park in winter.

Guests of the Voskresenskiy Park can:

  • stay at the cozy Sloboda mini-hotel ,
  • taste the national Mari cuisine at the Teply Rechka Tavern , and
  • ride the go-karting track located next to the park
