The "Day of the Artist" holiday
One day a year, a small town on the Volga turns into a huge open-air workshop, where people come who know how to catch light and silence on the tip of a brush.

On July 15, the Kozmodemyansky Museum complex will once again be crowded with canvases, easels and those who hold them.
  • Destination
    Kozmodemyansk
What happens when more than fifty artists from Mari El, Moscow, Tatarstan, Chuvashia and who knows where else gather:
  • New exhibitions are being opened, which yesterday were just sheets of paper.
  • they go
  • out en plein air and paint the Volga, old houses and each other
  • They
  • give paintings to the museum for nothing, because they can't help but give them away.
  • master classes are organized, where even those who "only know how to stick and circle" leave with their own masterpiece.
  • They
  • walk around the city with guides who tell them where Grigoriev's easel once stood.
  • In the
  • evening, they sit with friends, drink tea and argue about which blue is the right color.
This is the day when you can approach an artist who has just finished an etude and ask, "What did you mean by that?" and he will surely tell you.

Come back on July 15th.

Look at how the picture is born.
